23 Dec Soja Foods Secures Kaplan Facility for Multimillion-Dollar Processing Plant

December 23, 2025- Kaplan, LA – ELIFIN® is pleased to announce the successful lease of 302 Klaby Meaux Road, a ±144,000 SF warehousing and distribution facility in Kaplan, LA to Soja Foods, LLC. The site, formerly known as the Garan Manufacturing Facility, benefits from a versatile warehouse layout, and easy access to Hwy-14 with connectivity to Lafayette, Abbeville, and Lake Charles.

Mark Johns of ELIFIN®, specializing in Industrial Sales & Leasing, successfully represented both parties in negotiating this 10-year lease with an option to purchase.

This agreement marks the start of major economic growth for the city of Kaplan. Soja Foods, LLC plans to invest upwards of $9,000,000 to renovate and repurpose the facility as a soybean processing plant, while also utilizing chemical-free and sustainable production and extraction practices.

“Transforming the former Garan facility into a modern soybean processing operation is a win for our city and workforce,” said Mike Kloesel, Mayor of Kaplan. Upon the facility’s completed upgrades, the plant is expected to bring in a minimum of 40 – 50 quality jobs, further contributing to the city’s long term economic development.
