The March 8, 2021 issue covers twelve commercial sales recorded across Baton Rouge the previous week, totaling $25.9M in disclosed volume. The headline deal: Amazon.com Services LLC paid $12.5M for the former Mervin's location and the center of the shuttered Cortana Mall, ahead of its forthcoming distribution center at the site. Retail led the week with nine of the twelve sales, six of them Amazon purchases at Cortana Mall, including the former Virginia College property for $4.75M and the Dillard's, Sears, Macy's and JCPenney buildings at undisclosed prices, while First National Bank paid $2.98M for a former MidSouth Bank branch on Corporate Boulevard.
