Is commercial real estate a good career?

Commercial real estate is an exciting and rewarding career, allowing infinite earning potential and flexibility for agents. As a commercial real estate agent, you will be your own boss, and have the ability and freedom to work your business around personal and family obligations. You can choose a specialty “niche” area, and work to become an expert in that field of real estate.  Having a commission-based income will mean you will constantly be looking for your next client. If you work hard, the possibilities for your success are unlimited.

Successful real estate agents will tell you that you get out of your business what you put in to it. If you are lazy and put in minimum effort, your will likely not see an impressive return. If you work hard to develop relationships with your clients and build their trust, you may enjoy success from repeat business.  The business will be easier if you are comfortable speaking to new people and constantly working to secure the next client, listing or transaction.

You will be able to choose whether you want to work as part of a team, or individually. With a smartphone and laptop, you will be able to work away from your office and on-the-go.   If you are outgoing, friendly and energetic, and enjoy a job that is never boring, commercial real estate may be an enjoyable and lucrative career for you.
