Renovation Permit – The two-story fourplex at 1201 Convention Street was renovated in 2015 by someone else (as can be seen from historical Google Earth imagery), but the only permit that was obtained at that time (so far as I am aware, according to Open Data BR) was an electrical permit # 53460. I purchased it in 2016 as tax-adjudicated property from East Baton Rouge Parish and had no involvement with the renovations, which included electrical, PEX plumbing, HVAC, and a new roof. Last month, I became aware that it’s my responsibility to get this previous work inspected to ensure that it complies with the proper building codes. I was told I should apply for a renovation permit and that the inspections division will need to review the structure and decide where to cut into the walls to inspect the work.
