Work to consist of reworking the existing Canal Steet electrical service to permanently power the old Common Street electrical service as well as make the building code compliant with the correct number and location of disconnecting means. The existing 600Amps fused switchboard at the left side of the Canal Street electrical service will be demolished and a new customer-owner junction box will be installed in its place. The new junction box will take conductors from Entergy directly and is not subject to the maximum conduit or cable requirements of Entergy. The new 1200A switch board with a main circuit breaker will be located to the left of the service and will repower everything the demolished 600Amp fused switchboard powered as well as provide a 600Amp feed routed to the old Common Street Service. The service rework will then reduce the total amount of building service disconnects to a total of three. A scheduled building outage for the Canal Street service will need to occur to do the disconnect and the reconnect work needed. The electrical contractor will coordinate with Entergy for that. A short scheduled outage will be required for the old common Street service to cut it off of the on site 200kw generator and connect it to the reworked Canal Street service.
