Apprentice Questions: Being Your Own Boss

Today’s Question is for Keagan Finley, Senior VP of Multifamily Sales in Columbus, OH.

John: What is the biggest misconception about being your own boss?

Keagan Finley: The biggest misconception is thinking that you’re going to be able to do whatever you want or that your life is going to be easy because you set your own schedule. It’s not easy to follow your own schedule. It takes discipline and structuring, as well as adjusting, because everything is on you at that point. You’re not forced to work unless you create that force.

ELIFIN® apprentices are encouraged to be curious and ask questions to get the most out of the program. “Being an apprentice is different than being an intern,” says Mathew Laborde, President & CEO of ELIFIN®. “It’s more exclusive. It’s more substantial.” ELIFIN® apprentices dig into hands-on work from day one, getting experience that sets them apart in the commercial real estate industry and beyond.
