Today’s Question is for Peter Laville, Land Specialist in Baton Rouge, LA.
Katrina: If you could go back and give yourself one piece of advice when you were first starting out as an agent, what would it be?
Peter Laville: Do what you said you were going to do when you said you were going to do it. This advice comes from lawyers and other successful business people I’ve had the opportunity to lunch with. I asked them about their success stories, and they always said, “Whenever I told someone I was going to send them an email or answer their question, if I said I’d have it by the end of the day, even if it was 7 or 8 o’clock at night, I’d have it.” I’ve always lived by that mentality. If I tell you I’m going to send you something, I will send it to you. I don’t care if it’s 10 o’clock at night and I have to get out of bed to do it because I said I would. I keep myself disciplined in honoring my words so that people know when I say I’m going to do something, they can trust me to do it. The more they trust you, the more they’ll send your way and the more they’ll want to do business with you.
