December 6th, 2019 – Baton Rouge, LA – Aquaculture Systems Technologies, LLC has recently consolidated all of its operations to their new location in Downtown Baton Rouge at 2120 N 3rd Street. George Bonvillain and Mathew Laborde, of Elifin Realty, assisted AST in finding the new location for their rapidly expanding business.
Relocating their operations from New Orleans and their research & development department from LSU’s Innovation Park has been vital to the continued expansion of their business, according to Dr. Ron Malone Ph.D., Owner & CTO. “The configuration of the building is ideal for our expansion plans and being in close proximity to LSU is a huge benefit to us for R&D and recruiting purposes,” said Dr. Malone.
AST designs, engineers, and manufactures advanced water filtration systems for a wide variety of aquaculture and wastewater treatment applications. They have worked extensively with large aquariums, zoos, research & development facilities, and other animal-related support systems, and have developed solutions for nitrification, COD removal, BOD removal, and other wastewater systems.
From agriculture work on the West Coast to water filtration systems in Taiwan, Dr. Malone says that AST has done business both nationally and internationally over the past 25 years. With recent changes in regulations and businesses exploring new solutions to water filtration, Dr. Malone says that AST is in a unique position to service this swiftly growing sector. “Our philosophy is no moving parts, minimal electronics, and minimal labor. We are developing and implementing solutions that are passive in design and pneumatically and hydraulically engineered to minimize the costs on our clients,” said Dr. Malone.
“We are fully operational at our new location and are looking to fill multiple open positions that will help us achieve our plans for 2020 and beyond,” says Dr. Malone.
