08 Mar Aldi Purchases 3 Acres Near Amazon Fulfillment Center at Cortana

March 8, 2024 – Baton Rouge, LA – Will Chadwick, Partner – Retail Sales & Leasing, is thrilled to announce the sale of a 3-acre lot adjacent to the Amazon Fulfillment Center at the former Cortana Mall site to the supermarket giant, ALDI.

This strategic purchase underscores a trend of new development for ALDI in the Baton Rouge market. They join a wave of recent investments in the vicinity, which includes land sold to Starbucks for a new location, expansion efforts by Raising Cane’s, a new Whitewater Express car wash, and Northern Tool’s opening of their only Baton Rouge location.

Notably, the new ALDI site is directly adjacent to a 40,000 sqft space formerly occupied by Big Lots, which is currently available for lease. There are also several commercial lots available for sale surrounding the Amazon Fulfillment Center.
